Types of polyonamial

  1. Monomial = The polynomial with only one term is called monomial. A number or a product of a number and a variable. Example: -2x, 5y^{2} ,are monomials.
  2. Binomial = The polynomial with two-term is called binomial. Two monomials are connected by + or -. Example:  25x^{3}+2,8x+6 ,are binomials.
  3. Trinomial = The polynomial with three-term are called trinomial. Three monomials are connected by + or -. Example:  2x^{2}+5x+6,\frac{4}{2}x^{3}+\frac{5}{3}x^{2}+\frac{7}{3}  are trinomials.
  4. Constant Polynomial: The polynomial containing only the constant term is a constant polynomial. Example: 45,-78 are constant polynomial.
  5. Polynomial: If the expression contains more than three terms, then the expression is called a Polynomial. More than three monomials connected by + or -. Example:  17y^{3}+54y^{2}+8y+36  is a polynomial.
Example: Identify the types of polynomials:
  1.  3x^{2}
  2.  5x^{4}+2x^{3}+4
  3.  3x^{2}+6x
  4.  mn
  5.  25z^{3}+45z^{2}+7z+63
  6. -89
